But what we can see is price per SF is up about 7%, not a rapid increase in this market, but above the historic average of 4%. However, the average Pittsburg California Housing price is up 23%, which is more representative of the over all market we have been seeing in East Contra Costa County.
What appears to be happening is there is a growing demand for Higher End Pittsburg California Homes. Those homes cost more, hence the average price increase, but are generally cheaper on a SF basis. The 23% increase is probably closer to the reality of the Pittburg California Housing Market. This is further supported by the fact that there is only about a one month Supply of Homes in Pittsburg California. This is an extreme sellers market.
